Our August Dialogue "Tuesday Talks" with Mr Murali Menon was eye-opening and heartwarming asd usual. Murali sir guided the children (and adults!) through the topic of "bullying" - a topic that was evidently close to everyone's hearts.
Children spoke of heart-breaking instances of bullying they had experienced, while the adults reflected on what makes a bully the way he/she is and whether they were a victim of bullying or a perpetrator.
As usual, kindly and with no judgement or bias, Mr Murali listened to the dialogue and streered it towards a more productive path opf how we can deal with bullies in our day to day life. The first step is to accept them for the way they are; most bullying behaviours are fashioned that way out of insecurity or unhappiness in the bullies' own lives.
Though this seemed hard to accept at first, the children and the adults all agreed that we should treat everyone with kindness and compassion. We invite your thoughts on the matter as well!
